The Sussex Food & Drink Awards 2019 opened for entries on 10th September 2018 and since then we have received a record-breaking 18,000 public votes for people’s favourite local food and drink producers and places that sell and serve our superb local fare across the county!
Voting is now closed and our expert panel of judges will be reviewing the public vote and will be deliberating over the next two months. We will announce the three Grand Finalists in each category in March before the Awards Banquet, to be on 15th May at the Amex Stadium, reveals the winners.
The Sussex Food & Drink Awards is the only awards in the county created to support and boost local farmers, food and drink producers and the outlets which serve and sell their superb local fare and is now in its 13th year.

Our winner will be an innovative business from any part of the food and drink sector, supporting local produce, which has been trading for up to 3 years at end 2019; has the ambition and determination to succeed; and can demonstrate a realistic and sustainable business plan.
Our winner will be a young farmer aged 35 or under at end 2019. This young person should display the following attributes: vision; leadership; innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship; ability to incorporate new ideas and practices; ability to inspire others; and the desire to succeed and grow business.
Renowned as the Sussex foodie event of the year the 2018 Sussex Food & Drink Awards Banquet was held on Wednesday 7th February 2018 at the Amex. Hosted by Danny Pike from BBC Sussex, and actress Julie Graham, this black tie event included a wonderful ‘Sussex bubbly and ale reception’, with Harveys Ale, Carr Taylor sparkling wine, Wobblegate apple juice and Brighton Gin accompanied by delicious canapés from The Naked Food Company.
This was followed by a stunning seven-course banquet created by stadium caterers Sodexo Prestige, using the very best local and seasonal ingredients supplied by Lighthouse Bakery, Real Patisserie, Bookham & Harrison, Southview Farm Dairy, Hoads Farm, Veasey & Sons Fishmongers, Plumpton College, R P Meats (Wholesale), T G Fruits, The Cheese Man, Deerview Fine Foods, Just Brownies, The Raw Chocolate Company, South Downs Water Co Ltd and Edgcumbes Coffee Roasters and Tea Blenders.
